Who We Are
The Origin of BridgeTheGap Ministires
In August 1999, while driving home on I-64 near Hampton, VA, the Spirit of GOD inspired me to consider 3 distinct questions: a simple answer changed everything:
- Why do some have more than enough while others have nothing?
- Why do some sleep in comfort while others have no place to lay their heads?
- Why do some waste food while others go hungry?
While pondering these questions, tears began to roll down my face. Then, I asked the Lord, "How can a tangible difference be made?"
His response was “Bridge the Gap”. At that moment a vision was birthed: BridgeTheGap Ministries (BTGM).
Today, BTGM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to meeting needs and transforming lives across Hampton Roads. From launching our Outreach Center in 2022 to opening the Peninsula Distribution Center in 2025, our mission remains clear to Bridge The Gap for individuals and families by collaborating with volunteers, organizations, ministries, and businesses. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of real people.

Our Founder & Executive Director, Michael Ojujoh, envisions the Peninsula Distribution Center (PDC) as a pivotal Regional Hub—a conduit through which organizations like Good360 and major corporations funnel critical supplies to those who need them most.

PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
CORPORATE DONATIONS
We invite corporate organizations and businesses to partner with us by donating items such as diapers & baby formula, linen & blankets, personal hygiene products, canned foods & non-perishables, bottled water and flashlights & batteries.
FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS
Partners and individuals are welcomed and encouraged to make monetary donations.
VOLUNTEERING
Partnering organizations, ministries, and individual volunteers are invited to serve in our warehouse.
Volunteer activities may include:
- Sorting and labeling goods
- Loading and unloading shipments
- Delivering items to designated locations
All volunteer hours will be recorded, tracked, and credited as Community Service for both individuals and their respective organizations, churches, or groups.
